In the Jockey's Room - Painting Detail

Here's a picture of me painting some mud on the jockey's face.
This painting is from a series I'm working on called "In the Jockey's Room" where I try to capture the atmosphere and tention in the changing room of horse racing jockeys.
There they shower and change their silks in between races and often have to wait before a big race or cool down after loosing or having a big fall. I've really been getting into the sport for the past 2 years and thought that this would be a great subject to paint about.
Will hopefully be posting the final painting soon, hope you like it.

Men at Bar - Small Loose Painting

Sometimes when I'm working on a big painting I like to have a small piece of canvas on the side to make a very loose painting with the paint that's left on my palette. This one is based on a black and white picture on men at a bar.

After The Race Underpainting

This is a new painting I'm working on for my series "In the Jockey's Room". I usually start off my oil paintings with an underpainting to get the drawing an and shadows layed out before the color. For this one I used raw umber and turpentine.
I'll hopefully be posting more pictures of this painting as it develops.
Hope you like it!
